GOD'S WILL

"For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His Will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,"

What value can be placed on knowing the will of God? To know someone's will, someone's plan or hearts desire, is very close to knowing the real inner person. If we know God's will, we are very close to truly knowing God! Apart from God revealing Himself to us, we cannot know Him, and can only guess & speculate concerning Him, and His will for us. As many as are the men, so will be the speculations. But should God choose to reveal His Will to man, all is made clear. We can then say we know God's will; and not far behind is God Himself!

Here in Colossians 1:9, the apostle prayed for the believers, that they would be filled with the knowledge of the Lord's will!

How much we need this today, is so very evident amongst God's people! Can we say that we truly know the will of God? May He fill us, in "All spiritual wisdom and understanding!"

God has made His will known!

"He made known to us the mystery of His Will, according to His kind intention, which He purposed in Him." (Ephesians 1:9)

Here, in God's Word, we see that God has indeed Revealed to us His mysterious will! Praise Him!

And what has God made known to us? Consider the next verse.

"With a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is the Summing Up Of All Things In Christ, things in the heavens and things upon the earth in Him." (Ephesians 1:10)

This is the mystery of His will that He has made known to us! This is God's purpose, His plan! To sum up all things in Christ.

In the original language, the word translated "SUM UP", (Anakephalaioo), means to condense to a summary, to head up, to gather up, to present as a whole.

Thus, we can see, that God is going to head up all things in Christ, to condense them all to a summary, a whole, of nothing but Christ!

God will head up all things under Christ and fill all things with Christ! He is starting now, to do this, in His Church! Consider the following.

"And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His Body, the fullness of him who fills all in all." (Ephesians 1:22,23)

How may I be summed up in Christ? God has provided a way!

"To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the gentiles the Unfathomable Riches Of Christ," (Ephesians 3:8)

Praise God! Though Christ's riches are unfathomable, and unsearchable, yet they are Experienceable! They are His very own Divine Attributes, such as light, life, power, and love! Also righteousness, and holiness, as He expresses them to and through us. They include all that He has accomplished and obtained for us. They are the elements of Himself, which as we take them in become us, and sum us up in Christ! We experience them in our spirit, as we enjoy Him, by faith!
