Christ is in us. This is true of all genuine believers in the Lord! This is a mystery to us, but we realize that it is so. Before we were saved we did not have God, and we knew it. Now however we have God! I contain Christ. Christ is God, Therefore I contain God! This is wonderful! Many will say that we are crazy but we just don't care what anyone says because we contain God! This is a mystery, and He is so full of Glory, even now within us. But this is also, something more, for the future.
Christ in us is the Hope Of Glory. But how many of us truly realize what Glory is? If we look at the original Greek, we find that the word which is translated Glory, (doxa), is used "of the nature and acts of God in self manifestation. That is, what He essentially is and does, as exhibited in whatever way He reveals Himself in these respects". To put this in more simple terms, Glory is what God is in Himself as He expresses Himself, IN SPLENDOR! Glory is God expressing Himself. Ultimately Glory is just God Himself!
This may not be so easy to understand, but it will be well worth it to try. If we see that Glory is God expressing Himself, how then does this relate to us, and how is it that Christ in us is the HOPE OF GLORY? Take a look at 2 Cor. 3:18.
"But we all with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the Glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from Glory to Glory, just as from the Lord the Spirit."
This verse shows that we are being transformed into the same image, as the resurrected and Glorified Christ! We are like a mirror. As God reveals His Glory to us, we get transformed into the same image! We reflect His image, which we draw from Him, even as a mirror reflects our image, as it receives it, from us. Surely, you trust the image in the mirror, to be just like you, so also we shall become, and are becoming just like Him! This is because God is expressing Himself through us. How important it is for us to cooperate with Him! How we need to utterly give ourselves, to our God, for this glorious transforming process. Now take a look at Philippians 3:21
"Who will transfigure the body of our humiliation to be conformed to the body of His Glory, according to His operation by which He is able even to subject all things to Himself."
Christ in us, is the HOPE OF GLORY! When we believed in Him the Bible reveals that we were born anew from above. (John 3:3,6). Because Christ came into us, we were born again! Now He is transforming us into His image. This is a process from "Glory to Glory." Finally Christ will fully express Himself through us! This will transfigure our body to be conformed to the body of His Glory!
At this time we will be just like Him! (1 John 3:2). Our entire being will be glorified! (Romans 8:30). He will be "the firstborn among many brothers" (Romans 8:29), of whom He is not ashamed! (Hebrews 2:11).
